Alex Rodriguez to Save the Kids of Miami off the Street

The New York Yankees third baseman, Alex Rodriguez is paying for the nonprofit Computer Center in Miami, FL. He mentioned on his interview his philanthropic mission simply: “I think education is the way out of the hood. Any kid that brings me a report card with straight As, I bring him and his parents over to watch a Yankee game on me.”

Being raised in Miami, Rodriguez sits in the board of University of Miami for Boys and Girls Club and he finances the Alex Rodriguez Scholarship Program. He also donated $3.9 million to the college’s baseball program, helping build the ballpark that bears his name.
